What the report contains

The recommendation report is the deliverable handed over under the engagement letter. It runs to five pages and ten sections:

  1. Summary of recommendations: the decisions to retain, with amounts and the illustrative result.
  2. Your situation: household, income, saving capacity and existing financial assets.
  3. Objectives and investor profile: priorities in figures and a summary of the MiFID II questionnaire.
  4. Overall strategy: three pockets (safety, long term, child and transmission), each with its own role, horizon and risk level.
  5. Detailed implementation: account type, recommended product, ISIN code, ongoing charges, and the options set aside with the reason.
  6. Scenarios and projections: three net-return assumptions, over 10, 20 and 25 years.
  7. Transmission and protection of the child: beneficiary clause, gifts, general pointers to be checked with the notary.
  8. Action plan: the steps, week by week and then month by month.
  9. Points of caution: loss of capital, concentration, discipline, tax.
  10. Transparency and framework: independence, no retrocessions, duty of means.

The sample at a glance: a couple aged 38 and 36, one child aged 2

The household earns €5,600 net a month and can save €1,200 (21% of income). Its financial assets total €59,000, almost 70% of them in low-yielding cash. Three issues stand out: putting the surplus to work, building a retirement capital, and preparing the child’s future.

The recommendations in the sample:

  • keep €20,000 as a safety reserve in Livret A and LDDS (about 4.5 months of spending) and invest the €18,000 surplus gradually over six months;
  • open one PEA per spouse and pay in €900 a month (€450 each) into a single world ETF, for the 25-year capital;
  • open an assurance-vie dedicated to the child and to transmission, fed with €300 a month, with a beneficiary clause drafted with the notary;
  • set aside the PER, SCPI and private equity for now, with the reason for each choice: with a marginal tax rate of 11%, a PER saves little tax, for example.

The report then puts figures on the projected capital under three net annual return scenarios. They are working assumptions, not forecasts.

ScenarioNet returnCapital at 10 yearsCapital at 20 yearsCapital at 25 years
Cautious3% a year€191,000€421,000€564,000
Central5% a year€212,000€521,000€739,000
Favourable7% a year€235,000€649,000€981,000
Cumulative payments—€162,000€306,000€378,000

Assumptions: €18,000 invested at the start, then €1,200 a month, not indexed; returns net of fund and wrapper charges; current euros, before exit tax and before inflation. A stress test completes the report: a 40% fall in equities in year ten would mean an unrealised loss of about €78,000 in the central scenario, which is only crystallised if you sell.

The framework of the engagement

Four rules appear in the report and apply to every file:

  • Independence: paro conseil is paid only through its fees. For the products recommended, no retrocession or referral bonus is kept.
  • Implementation by you: opening accounts and placing orders are not part of the engagement, which ends with the recommendation and its presentation by video call.
  • No personalised tax or legal advice: tax and transmission pointers are general and should be checked with your notary or adviser.
  • Duty of means: the recommendations are not a guarantee of performance.

For the steps and the fees in detail, see the Fees page.

Frequently asked questions

What does an independent advisor's written recommendation report contain?

Ten sections: summary of recommendations, your situation, objectives and investor profile, overall strategy, detailed implementation (account type and product, down to the ISIN code), projections, transmission, a dated action plan, points of caution, and the framework of the engagement. It is delivered in writing and presented by video call.

Is the sample report a real client file?

No. The people, amounts and assumptions are fictional. The report shows the form and level of detail of a deliverable. The products, fees and tax rules it quotes are examples as of the date of the document and must be revalidated in a real deliverable.

Who carries out the recommendations?

You do, at your own pace: opening accounts and placing orders are not part of the engagement. The report specifies the account type, the product, the amount and the timetable. Follow-up is covered by a separate engagement letter.

Does the advisor earn a commission on the products recommended?

No. paro conseil is paid only through its fees. If a recommended institution or contract triggered a referral bonus or a retrocession, the report would say so and the full amount would be passed on to you as soon as possible.

How do I get a report like this one?

In two steps. An introductory video meeting (€150 including VAT, deductible from the advisory work if you order it within 12 months) frames your needs. The investment advice engagement is then charged at 1% at most, on a sliding scale by bracket, with a minimum of €900 including VAT. Details are on the Fees page.

Disclaimer: Illustrative document prepared for a fictional couple: it is neither a personalised recommendation, nor a solicitation to invest, nor legal or tax advice. The products cited and the tax rules are given as examples as of the date of the document (October 2026, updated on 2 November 2026) and must be revalidated before any decision. Projections rest on assumptions: past performance is not a guide to future performance and capital invested in equities may be partly or wholly lost. Any real recommendation requires an engagement letter.
